Original Galatea Android Costume (Kiersten Warren)

This full sized Galatea android suit worn throughout the movie by Kiersten Warren as "Galatea", Rupert Burns' robot assistant. It is a fully enclosed robot suit so that no part of her body was exposed. It is made of molded resin components with very nicely finished plastics and metals. There is amazing details in the coloring and in several see through panels on the body. Built into the head are electronic servos for the eye lids and eye brows so they could be moved via remote control for expressions. The face is made of silicon so that it would move with the actor's mouth when talking. the costume is complete with the black wood base and aluminum Speed Rail display system as was used by the production company between takes.

Sculpted by Jose Fernandez, engineering by Lennie MacDonald and William Bryan, under the supervision of Steve Johnson through is company XFX (Edge FX). Johnson started his own effects company XFX in 1986 renamed Edge FX in 1989 for James Cameron's The Abyss. He created the "alien" creatures for the film's climax.
