Original Darth Vader costume

The hard parts of this costume (helmet, pad, torso...) were made by Lucasfilm' Return of the Jedi production team at Elstree studios. This was indeed a costume made to tour UK in order to promote Palitoy's toys.

This costume was worn by Robert James Leake (1955-1998), the seven-foot tall “professional monster” who appeared in numerous commercials and television shows as Dracula, the Frankenstein Monster and Darth Vader. He joined The Dracula Society in 1974 and held a variety of positions, including Honorary Secretary, archivist, media consultant and editor of the society’s newsletter, Voices from the Vaults.
