Planet Druidia Castle Original Matte Painting by Albert Whitlock

Screen-Used Oil Matte Painting on Masonite in Frame (60" X 38"). There has never been a name more legendary in the art of movie matte painting than that of Albert Whitlock, who personally trained the two cofounders of Illusion Arts Studios, Syd Dutton and Bill Taylor. In this screen-used painting, Whitlock renders a slightly modified version of Bavaria's famed Neuschwanstein Castle from the popular Star Wars parody film Spaceballs.

The painting of a tunnel found on the verso of the image of the castle is also from the movie, but by another, unknown artist. It's Mega Maid Ear Canal.
