Original Starfleet Dress Costume from Star Trek The Motion Picture

A Starfleet officer's dress uniform from the production of Robert Wise's space adventure Star Trek: The Motion Picture, designer by Costume Designer Robert Fletcher.

The Star Trek franchise's first theatrical venture introduced a refit Enterprise, new uniforms, and the newly promoted Admiral James T. Kirk (William Shatner). Costumes of this style were predominantly worn by Kirk in the film, though Kirk's costume featured an admiral rank braid, while a captain's rank braid is sewn on the sleeve of this costume. The silk-lined, linen-blend uniform consists of a white and grey jacket with a zip back and hook-and-clasp collar, and a matching pair of grey pants with shoe stirrups. The top includes a front belt life support monitor buckle made of plastic. The jacket and pants both include Western Costume Co. wardrobe tags complete with sizing information and the numbers "2254 - I" and "2254 - 2", respectively. Also sewn onto the jacket later are triangle patches on the epaulettes (instead of star patches).
