Mondoshawan Ship Preproduction Model

A Mondoshawan maquette from the production of Luc Besson's sci-fi adventure The Fifth Element. Mondoshawan aliens exited their ship and entered an ancient Egyptian temple at the beginning of the film.

This maquette was created by the art department as a concept model for the elaborate design of the large-scale creatures. This sculpt made by Pierre Blanchard is made of a combination of fibreglass and resin. The head protrudes from the centre of the shoulders via an affixed metal wire. Several components running along the back of the shoulders are numbered in black marker, and the front displays dimensions, annotations and lines drawn in pencil.

Dimensions: 36 cm x 31 cm x 56 cm (14" x 12 1/4" x 22")
